The Twickenham Square shopping center will welcome a retail store to its tenant mix this fall in downtown Huntsville.
Commercial real estate firm Crunkleton Associates announced this week The Pants Store will launch its first north Alabama location in September between Taco Mama and Cajun Steamer Bar Grill. In addition to its flagship Leeds store, the family business has sites in Tuscaloosa, Trussville and Birmingham.
“We believe the addition of The Pants Store to Twickenham Square is going to be a game changer for the center,” she said. “Not only does The Pants Store complement the existing tenant mix, it will also bring a new level of vibrancy to the entire complex.”
Founded in 1950, The Pants Store carries pants, shoes, socks, clothing and other items from a variety of brands, including Ugg, Southern Marsh, Miss Me and Mountain Khakis.
The retailer’s roots can be traced to founder Taylor Gee, who started selling pants out of the trunk of his car. The Pants Store later was run by Morris M. “Mickey” Gee, who died in 2012. His sons, Michael and John, began managing the business before he passed away.
Twickenham Square is home to Publix, Homewood Suites by Hilton, Artisan at Twickenham Square, Cajun Steamer Bar Grill, Supercuts, Taco Mama, Twickenham Place, Asian Rim, H Block, Beaute Nail Spa and FirstBank. The development, which is near Huntsville Hospital, will welcome The Chocolate Martini Bar later this year.
