A man suffered serious face and neck injuries while using a hedge trimmer in Cambridgeshire and hospitalised.

Police and paramedics were called to Ugg Mere Court Road, Ramsey Heights after the man was badly hurt, it has emerged.

The incident happened just after 10am on Tuesday (November 15).

A force spokesman said: “Police needed to attend to clarify the details of what had happened. Enquiries showed that the man had been contracted to cut hedges at the address and had been standing on boarding when the accident occurred,

possibly slipping or the boards giving way. He was taken to hospital by ambulance and treated for lacerations.”

An East of England Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We were called at 9.50am on Tuesday (15th November) after reports that someone had suffered serious face and neck injuries in an incident in Ramsey Heights.

“An ambulance and rapid response vehicle attended to provide care to the man, thoughts to be in his 50s, before taking him to Peterborough City Hospital for further treatment. Thankfully his injuries aren’t thought to be life threatening, and we wish him the very best for his recovery.”
